Emigrants, Rafters and Tetons....to Jackson Hole

Just outside of Pocatello, ID on I-86 should you happen to pull into the first rest area that appears you will find a historical marker for the Emigrant Trail - part of the Oregon Trail.

If you look carefully you will find a small sign along the ridge that marks the path made by 35 years of wagons moving west - "Wagon Wheel Ruts" and there are actually there.
(additional photos in the side bar show to the right).

Into Wyoming through a few small towns like Alpine and as we followed the Snake River up through the pass we pulled over to watch rafters float through Taco Hole.

Enjoy the rafters....

We are parked in the Gros Ventre (Big Belly) Campground until tomorrow. Gorgeous, well run park.

Where they ask you to "pinpoint" your city/state/country....
more later....off to visit the Tetons...and to see the Wildlife Elk Refuge
Ciao~
